Some will not move even if they are asked to do so. Please tell me how to cope with these arrogant people. Asked by Sheffield-Politics - Fri Apr 10 20:41:49 2009 - - 12 Answers - 1 Comments A. Some people just seem to believe that rules are made to be broken. People like that probably also enjoy a bit of a confrontation - it's a chance for them to feel powerful. So if I were you, I'd just ask them once nicely, "Excuse me, I have a reservation for this seat, would you mind awfully moving?" Then if they don't have the grace to move straightaway, just walk away, and perhaps look for a member of staff to deal with them. I assume these trains you're talking about are in England? If it's abroad you're talking about, I think it would be fair to assume that the British people concerned were just ignorant of the system - in Italy for instance, seat reservations aren't displayed on the seats, you have to occupy the seat specified on… [cont.] Answered by Cosimo vuole le arancine - Sat Apr 11 05:15:24 2009 How did the British gain power over there local people so easily? Germs caused disease which severely reduced and weakened political systems and the ability to gather numbers to fight. Steel is emblematic of the huge technological advantage gained during the industrial revolution. Answered by iansand9876 - Wed May 13 20:23:38 2009 How is American and British culture different?
Q. I'm from England, but I have dual nationality. My boyfriend lives in the US, and I'm planning to move out there to live with him, once I finish college. I'm worried that I won't get on with people there -- the culture seems completely different. I always assumed it was the same (perhaps because we speak the same language more or less), but after meeting some other American people, I've noticed that there's a huge difference between them and British people. How do you think they're different? Will I be able to get on with people over there? Thanks. Asked by Anonymous 17 yr old girl - Tue Feb 17 16:06:44 2009 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments A. I can tell you that we Americans are as foreign to you, as say the Chinese are. Our food is different, our language is certainly different, even though you try to copy us, our way of dress is different. Our politics are different, when you live here, you will find out just how free you are in the U.K. Regardless of what that xenophobe has said our crime rate is far above that of the UK. Unlike you in the UK we cannot criticize our leaders and institutions as you can, because if we do we are said to be unpatriotic, regardless of if or not the person is entirely wrong, like the previous president. When you come to the USA as I hope you will, do not expect to find the same sense of humor that you have. When you go into the post office and they… [cont.] Answered by jimbo - Wed Feb 18 07:51:14 2009 From Yahoo Answer Search: "british" Reality contestant fought with wife before killing
