From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. A hotel is an establishment that provides paid lodging on a short-term basis. The provision of basic accommodation, in times past, consisting only of a room with a bed, a cupboard, a small table and a washstand has largely been replaced by rooms with modern facilities, including en-suite bathrooms and air conditioning or climate control. Additional common features found in hotel rooms are a telephone, an alarm clock, a television, and Internet connectivity; snack foods and drinks may be supplied in a mini-bar, and facilities for making hot drinks. Larger hotels may provide a number of additional guest facilities such as a restaurant, a swimming pool or childcare, and have conference and social function services. Hotel rooms are usually numbered (or named in some smaller hotels and B&Bs) to allow guests to identify their room. Some hotels offer meals as part of a room and board arrangement. In the United Kingdom, a hotel is required by law to serve food and drinks to all guests within certain stated hours; to avoid this requirement it is not uncommon to come across private hotels which are not subject to this requirement. In Japan, capsule hotels provide a minimized amount of room space and shared facilities. In the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and Ireland (and rarely in some parts of the United States), the word may also refer to a pub or bar and might not offer accommodation. In India and Bangladesh, the word may also refer to a restaurant. From Wikipedia under the
GNU Free Documentation License What is the difference between an hotel and apartment hotel? Q. Okay, so, I'm going to stay in an apartment Hotel.. And since it has the word 'hotel' in it, does it mean it's exactly like an hotel? Or something? Thanks if you answered. And, no, I'm not going to Greece, I'm going to Bangkok living in this Apartment Hotel called Citadines. Asked by Waii - Mon Nov 23 10:22:46 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. You`re going to Greece aren`t you...An Hotel is a big building with rooms and a restaurant where you have Breakfast, lunch and Dinner, and room service and a mini bar in the room and towels changed daily, etc and its expensive, or lets say, not cheap... An Apartmenthotel is a big building with rooms a reception area that doubles as a breakfast room for those on "half board", towels get changed every three or four days and you are "self catering" so its cheaper or lets say less expensive (though when you take in the food you have to buy, or eat out every night..it can be more expensive than staying in an hotel where it`s "all found") Answered by Dan S - Mon Nov 23 10:36:36 2009 What happens if you rent a hotel room with an invalid credit card? Q. Let's say you check into a hotel and present a valid credit card with Id and stay for one night. The next morning you leave the hotel at 5am and don't pay or check out and take a cab to the airport. When you get to the airport at 5:30am you call your credit card company and tell them you lost your credit card. What would hotel staff do once you are already gone and they find out that they can't bill your credit card? Would hotel management try to reach you by mail and by phone? This is in the united states. Asked by unknown62008 - Wed May 13 02:42:47 2009 - - 7 Answers - 1 Comments A. Sounds like an excellent way to get another "free" stay at taxpayer expense after you get charged with credit card fraud too. As the others have told you, this won't work and could put you in a whole lot more difficulty than having to find the money for a hotel bill. The world needs more ethics, not less. Q. We are planning a trip in June of 08. 2 adults, and 3 kids (11, 8, and 1.) We'd love to have a suite where we can have our own room. There are so many hotels to choose from. Should I spend the money on Disney or go cheaper somewhere else? Is it worth the money to stay at a Disney hotel? Thanks! Asked by r_lescher12 - Fri Nov 9 15:43:15 2007 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments A. If you want a suite, then you're going to pay the price at a Disney hotel. The cheaper Disney hotels are not suites and they are mostly double beds in one room. Since you have kids who are able to do things, have you considered staying at the Nickelodeon Hotel? It's an all suite hotel and the kids can have a blast in the pool area. They have all the slime and stuff your kids would like. The rooms can get pricy during certain times of the year, but June shouldn't be too bad. My family stays at one of two hotels in the Disney area. Embassy Suites and Homewood Suites. Both hotels are owned by Hilton and you can get some great prices on the rooms. Both have breakfast in the morning and a manager's reception in the early evening hours.… [cont.] Answered by 2Beagles - Fri Nov 9 16:54:55 2007 From Yahoo Answer Search: "hotel" Lacking contract, union hotel workers protest Hyatt - Reuters
